ACV Lab Tests on Alfalfa

ACV tests on Alfalfa

2009

Attached are the test results on the alfalfa. The 7/29/09 tests were from the cutting alfalfa from 2008 crop. It appears that the V (vinegar) and the O (control) samples were reversed.

The 12/2/09 samples are fourth cutting alfalfa 2009 crop.

We put an estimated one plus gallon raw apple cider per ton with the swather.

These are preliminary results that sure look promising. We will be doing much more testing this year. It is believed that the 1st cutting holds more potential for improvement.

We also observed that the hay cured faster and was baled rather damp without mold or heat.

2010 Results!

Sample 3 No: Had no vinegar.

Sample 2 Med: Had approximately 1 gallon per ton.

Sample 3 Heavy: Had approximately 2 gallons of raw apple cider vinegar per ton. The hay was cut on June 16th and got 1/3 " rained on two days later and a light rain after it was raked. It was baled on June 20th.
